Dear Supporters of Scripture Union,

I am sending you this message to provide you with some clarity and reassurance in the face of the current difficult circumstances with the coronavirus pandemic.

Scripture Union is closely monitoring COVID-19 and we are following the advice from the relevant State and Federal Government Authorities.

We understand these are unprecedented times offering many Challenges. Scripture Union operates a number of services within the community and our major concern is always the health, wellbeing and safety of our community, volunteers and staff members.

While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 in the Scripture Union community, it is critical that we remain vigilant and as safe as possible.

To this end we have implemented a range of measures, including:

• Self quarantine for those returning from the mainland or overseas
• All non essential travel has been suspended
• Staff working from home

In relation to our upcoming programs, you can expect them to continue. We are looking at new, innovative and engaging ways to replace our traditional events held in July.

Let me assure you that we have a great organisation with many talented individuals. Our task is to meet the challenges in the coming months. We will do this in partnership with Churches, community groups, volunteers and staff.

Please join with me and let us continue to come before God in prayer. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a life of His love, grace, power and hope.

May God continue to bless you richly through this time!

Yours faithfully,

Chris Taylor
State Director – Scripture Union Tasmania
