Regional Manager, Tasmania – SU Australia

SUA invites applications for a Regional Manager, Tasmania.

The Regional Manager is the face of SUA in Tasmania, providing spiritual and strategic leadership across various ministries, networking and building relationships with external stakeholders, and demonstrating a passion to see SUA thrive in Tasmania. 

Reporting to the Group Director, South Zone, the Regional Manager will work with their field ministry teams to birth and grow ministry in Tasmania, including developing a sustainable funding base for activities.  You work will be supported with resources and expertise from SUA’s support teams. 

We are seeking an experienced ministry leader to oversee and supervise SUA ministries, ministry staff and volunteers. SUA has approximately 80 employees working in Tasmania, many engaged in school chaplaincy, along with 180 volunteers. 

This is an exciting time in SUA’s history, as we have recently merged into a national organisation with a strong focus on better supporting and growing local ministry.  If you are excited about leading at a pivotal point of change this could be the role for you!

This is a flexible position, with part time hours possible for the right candidate.

  • Passionate about keeping people safe and experienced in building a culture of safety and care. Effective in working with the Zone Group Director to develop a strategic direction for the various ministries in Tasmania.
  • Highly skilled in building partnerships with external groups, organisations and people, such as local churches, schools, charities and government.
  • Responsible for ensuring SUA ministries in the region are financially viable and sustainable.
  • Experienced in managing risk and compliance obligations.

Support Administrator – SU Australia (Hobart based)

SU Australia is an interdenominational Christian movement committed to providing Australian children, young people and families with opportunities to experience the transforming love of Jesus and to pursue a lifelong journey of discipleship.

SUA invites applications for a Support Administrator, 4 days per week, based in our Hobart office.

The Support Administrator will provide administration services to Tasmania and other areas within the SUA Southern Zone, including Victoria, South Australia and the ACT. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Being the first point of contact for Southern Zone personnel including Chaplains, volunteers, supporters, local support committees and boards, schools and churches
  • Supporting event directors with local ministry events, including systems support
  • Providing support to school chaplaincy committees, boards and managers with budget and financial management enquiries
  • Supporting other activities including training events, induction programs, fundraising events and donations processing.
  • Provide administration support to volunteers, camping and outreach programs and local fundraising and training events in Tasmania.

To be successful in this role, you will be highly experienced in providing logistical and administrative support in a large organisation that is geographically dispersed.  Your time management skills and excellent attention to detail will ensure your success in this role.  And, of course, your customer service skills are among the very best!


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 12 months experience in an administrative role
  • High level systems skills, preferably with a CRM platform and an online recruitment portal
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow tasks through to completion
  • Excellent customer service skills in a professional environment
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office programs
