State Director

SU Tas is an interdenominational Christian organisation that works with local churches and communities to make God’s Good News known to children, young people and their families and help people of all ages meet with God through the Bible and prayer. SU Tas has worked in Tasmania for over fifty years through camps, missions, outdoor programs, resources and school chaplaincy services. SU Tas is affiliated with SU Australia, and SU International.  

SU Tas is currently seeking a State Director with the experience and vision to lead the organisation into the future.

The primary functions of this position are:

  1. To act as a religious practitioner and provide strategic vision, direction and leadership of SU Tas
  2. Oversee the realisation of the SU Tas strategic plan as articulated by SU Tas Council
  3. Provide pastoral oversight of staff, volunteers and activities of SU Tas
  4. Maintain and develop church and community relationships, partnerships and networks: state-wide, interstate and internationally
  5. Work with SU Tas Senior Staff and SU Tas Council to manage the operations of the organisation.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following:

  1. An active Christian faith, will subscribe to the Aims, Beliefs and Working Principles of Scripture Union and be an active member or adherent of a local Christian church or community
  2. Excellent people and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team
  3. Sound business understanding and experience
  4. Qualifications and/or experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in youth and children’s activities or ministries
  5. Hold a current driver’s licence.
